DENISE SCOTT BROWN. LEARNING FROM LAS VEGAS
26-27 junie 2021
In this session of the Mies é Máis cycle, the work carried out by the architect, urban planner and professor Denise Scott Brown is addressed.
He conceived architecture as a revision of Pop culture, of advertisements and billboards, of the ordinary. He wrote a book with Robert Venturi, Learning from Las Vegas, where they explain everything that promotes postmodernism.
In the workshop we see photographs of Las Vegas to learn about this culture and differentiate what Scott Brown called duck buildings or decorative sheds, and a night in Las Vegas is recreated by simulating neon and light advertisements.
