ALEJANDRO DE LA SOTA. BLOQUES LÓGICOS
30 May – 31 May 2020
The session of the Mies é Máis cycle in May takes place online due to the extraordinary health situation in which we find ourselves, which does not allow workshops to be held in their usual format in person. On this occasion we focus on the life and work of the Galician master Alejandro de la Sota, showing the different architectural stages of his projects.
For the practical proposals we based on his idea of a cube that works, making a module that helps to generate a simple interior, and at the same time, an exterior as a container that reflects formal simplicity as an end in itself.
To do this, and adapting ourselves to materials that are easy to manipulate at home, we made paper trihedrons that we placed on various horizontal planes playing with different positions, obtaining as a formal result a large cube; and thus satisfying the conditions that Sota achieved in his works: addition, flexibility, modification and adaptation to multiple uses.
