Description

The IV International Encounter on Devices and Educational Spaces in Architecture, continues the work developed by the Playground Group in recent years. The 2017 event, hosted by the FAUP, was structured around two main thematic blocks that articulate Education and Architecture: the didactic devices and the spaces and educational activities.

The devices, of which the toys are examples, considered as artifacts used in the educational process in Architecture. On the other hand, the consideration of the spaces and activities that involve the teaching of Architecture as determinants of the success of learning in Architecture.

They were two intense days full of lectures, workshops and time for exchange. In addition, with emphasis on gaming and education devices, familiar projects were reviewed and new ones were discovered.

In addition, it was especially interesting to discover enormous parallels, synergies and points in common among the participants in the congress. In this way, we open new avenues of collaboration or begin to follow new lines of work. In this aspect we have to highlight the work of Bagio di Carlo with tensegritical structures. Also Sara San Gregorio and her digital manufacturing experiences at MediaLab or Miguel Díaz, with her activity at the ICO Foundation. V Playgrounds Meeting

This fifth edition of the Playgrounds Meetings was planned with a double format of plenary sessions with debates between professionals in architecture education and built environments on the one hand, and on the other the programming of twenty practical workshops organized by Ludantia Agents. Both formats are based on four strategic lines.
