Description

Is any space educational? Should only elite schools have exclusive educational spaces? Are these environments facilitators of the teaching-learning processes? And if all the above is true, shouldn’t all the students of the school enjoy these spaces? Shouldn’t the architectural projects be based on proposals from the different educational communities? What is being done in other countries in relation to this issue? What practical session (workshop) can we organize in the current classrooms? How does education in architecture and urbanism contribute to the formation of future citizens? The reflection on these related pedagogical questions has been little analyzed until now.

The social projection of this educational debate and the commitment to pay special attention to practical applications are the pillars on which this proposal of summer courses of the IUCE is based. On the eve of the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the UAM, this reflection becomes especially necessary in order to attend to the necessary reforms of its spaces with the scarce resources we have.

V Playgrounds Meeting

This fifth edition of the Playgrounds Meetings was planned with a double format of plenary sessions with debates between professionals in architecture education and built environments on the one hand, and on the other the programming of twenty practical workshops organized by Ludantia Agents. Both formats are based on four strategic lines.
